Zoo

This past weekend we took our first trip to the Dallas Zoo with our friends the Lieck's. I think Kaden had fun just being outside and he actually slept great that night. Sydney had a great time too with her friends Grace, Sophie & Mack and she was quite intrigued by some of the animals. Her favorite was definitely the fish tank in the kids area and the monkeys!

Kaden is starting to get big enough to play with some of Sydneys things. This is a video of him playing in her old bouncer chair. Sometimes Sydney gets a little upset at the sight. Other times she just goes over and gives him a hug and kiss.

10 Weeks Old

Kaden is 10 weeks old today. We had his 2 month check-up last Thursday and he's doing great. He definitely loves his formula and it shows - he is 24 1/4" (90th percentile), 12.1 ozs (50th percentile) and 39 cm head circumfrence (25th percentile)...he's grown a lot in two months. He had four immunizations, one oral and three shots. He screamed for a minute with the shots but was fine once he got his sucker (pacifier). He started smiling at 5 1/2 weeks, I was finally able to get a picture although it's not the best angle and he looks a lot like Brian in that picture.
Sydney had a Valentine's party at school last Friday and we all went. It confuses her now when we come for lunch, that's when they typically have their parties, and we leave again without her. After we ate she kept saying "let's go!", that's one of her new things she says whenever we're leaving and she's very enthusiastic about it. She was holding Brian's hand dragging him to the door trying to leave with us, especially when her teacher was getting out the cots for nap time. She eventually gave in when she got her sucker and laid down.

Lots of talking

Sydney is talking up a storm. We just have no idea what she is saying most of the time. The first video is her playing with her baby doll and talking. The second is her saying thank you, which we can actually understand.

Our Weekend

We had such a nice weekend, the weather was great. We took the kids to the park on Sat and Brian took Sydney again on Sun. She has so much fun running around she laughs and squeals, her favorite thing to do is swing she gets mad if they're both in use. We are trying to work on being patient. It's supposed to be nice again this weekend so I
'm sure we'll be back at the park.

Kaden is 7 weeks old now and is doing great. He'll sleep about 5-5 1/2 hours at night so he's almost sleeping through the night. We had his ears checked last week and they are looking so good, much improved. We go back next week and we'll find out if he has to wear the molds longer. He's growing so much we went up a diaper size about 3 weeks ago and I think we'll have to go up to the next size in a couple of weeks. He's already outgrown a lot of his clothes, I had forgotten how quickly they grow! He'll have his two month check-up in two weeks.

Sydney is doing better and is adjusting to being a big sister. Her favorite thing to do now is to get her two favorite blankets and a couple of her favorite toys and set-up a little spot to play it's usually behind the glider in the living room or in a corner in the sunroom.

Last week Sydney fell at daycare and had to get two stitches in her right cheek. It looked pretty bad, but it's healing quickly. She had the stitches removed today and it's looking good.
